In some Latin American countries, duels have been abolished relatively recently. For example, in Uruguay it was possible to call an offender until 1992. But in Paraguay, duels are still allowed, but on one condition – both duelists must be registered blood donors or have bequeathed their organs to medical or scientific institutions. In addition, the winner must provide first aid to the loser.
